Progress is easily adapted to each student's needs and may be used for children as young as age 10. The Beginner Level book gives special attention to melodic interval reading; hand positions alternated and extended to avoid rigid 5-finger position habit which fosters more careful note reading; introduces simple transposing, broken chords and chord symbols; many pieces have duet accompaniments.
