As the jig unwinds and comes to its conclusion, the piece unexpectedly shifts to a duple meter 4/4 featuring energetic technical passages in upper woodwinds, then joined by trumpets. Building toward a final climax, the piece shifts back to a fast 6/8 buildup, then ends in an exciting way as the second fast theme makes a dancing curtain call.
